Coach Jay

I’m a high energy mom to an even higher energy nine year old girl, who keeps me laughing and on my toes every day. She is one of my main motivations for staying healthy and fit, as I want to be able to have fun and keep up with her as long as I can.

I have always been an active person, and about ten years ago I got more serious about my health, focusing more on my nutrition and fitness. I am a huge fan of challenging myself by running Spartan obstacle races, dancing, and most recently weightlifting. I love to see females breaking barriers and lifting heavy weight, and welcome the opportunity to help more women (and men!) feel confident doing so, and have as much fun as I do while they do it!

I’ve funneled this passion for fitness into coaching, and I can’t wait to help people achive their goals in a positive and engaging way. There are so many ways to get results, and showing people these avenues makes me really happy.

I love talking about nutrition and educating people on simple ways to create new healthy habits. I will never tell you that you “can’t” eat something, and I’ll help you learn how to make food work for you.

Music is my life force, and dance breaks during sessions are highly encouraged!

My journey in health and fitness started when I began working with a trainer to help with weight loss. After graduating college and working a desk job for a few years, I noticed extra weight where there wasn’t before, I was slower, and lacked energy. After my trainer helped me lose the weight I wanted, she then introduced me to weightlifting. It was then I realized my true calling.

I started on a different journey to build muscle and strength, and became a Personal Trainer to help others who were struggling with their goals. I became invested in creating a trauma friendly, empathetic, and encouraging space for those intimated by regular gyms.

As my coaching career evolved, so did my understanding of health, nutrition, fitness, injury prevention and recovery, and athletic performance. I was helping others achieve the same desire I had in the beginning of my journey; become a healthier version of myself. My clientele range from men and women all over the age spectrum, searching for weight loss or body transformation, beginners to varsity athletes. It brings me so much pride to see what my clients can achieve, and I cannot wait to help you accomplish the goals you want for yourself.
